The Middle Tennessee Veterans Coalition (MTVC) will be presenting a unique and nostalgic evening to celebrate and raise funds to continue their mission of supporting veterans in the community. This event will take place on Saturday, October 19, 2014 at Events on Main in Dickson.

Guests will be encouraged to wear attire from the 1940s era and to embrace the retro theme set during the time of World War II. The event will begin with cocktails at 5:30 p.m., followed by an evening of dinner, dancing, a silent auction and entertainment.

Captain William Robinson, retired from the United States Air Force, and the longest-held enlisted Prisoner of War in American history, will be the guest speaker. Robinson was captured when his helicopter crashed on a mission over North Korea on September 20, 1965. He was released 2,703 days later during Operation Homecoming on February 12, 1973. He continued to serve his country until retiring in 1982.

The MTVC, formerly known as the Dickson County Veterans Coalition, works as an advocate for the veteran community in Dickson and surrounding counties through education, collaboration, and resource support. Offering various networking activities for the veteran community, they host a Military Coffee the second Saturday of each month at House Blend, a Military Meet-Up the third Thursday of each month at Events on Main, Military Movies every Thursday night at the Roxy Theater, and a Veteran’s Coalition meeting the fourth Wednesday of each month.
