Alma Ruth Fitts Buchanan, age 97 of Bon Aqua, TN went peacefully to her heavenly home on March 8, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born December 3, 1927 in Hickman County, TN and was the daughter of the late Leonard T. and Mae Morgan Fitts and was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years Paul Buchanan; two brothers, Edward and William Fitts; two sisters, Peggy Davidson and Allene Harrington. Ruth was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Ruth was a dedicated employee for the Hickman County School System where she worked in Food service for 26 years. She retired in May of 1998 to enjoy being at home, working in the yard, watching after the cows and attending church as a member of Missionary Ridge Baptist Church. She will always be remembered for the family get-togethers at Easter and at Christmas. She always treasured her trips to Michigan to make special memories with her family.
Survivors include her children, Carol Bose (Denny) of Hazel Park, MI, Rose Jedlicki of Murfreesboro, TN, Larry Buchanan (Pat) of Bon Aqua, TN, Robert Buchanan (Janice) of Bon Aqua, TN; brothers, James Fitts (Dot) of Bon Aqua, TN, Bobby Fitts of Lyles, TN; 12 grandchildren, Lisa Terrell, Annette Gwisdalla, Steven Bose, Ryan Bose, Dale Jedlicki, Michael Jedlicki, Duane Jedlicki, Chris Buchanan, Crystal Moffat, Robert Paul Buchanan, Sabrina Buchanan, Rachel Fuqua; 33 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 1 PM from the Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Profitt officiating. Place of rest will be in the Missionary Ridge Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, March 11th from 4 to 8 PM. https://taylorsince1909.com
