Betty Lou DePriest Baggett, age 81 of Dickson, TN, passed away Friday, May 9, 2025.
Born in Dickson, TN she was the daughter of the late Holden Kermit DePriest and Viola Mae “Dolly” Potts Depriest and was preceded in death by her husband, John Dee Baggett; her brother and sister-in-law, Walker and Doris DePriest.
She graduated from Dickson High School where she played basketball and played the position of forward. Betty Lou married at a young age and had two children. She loved and cared for her family and parents and was a devoted friend and loved her pets. Betty Lou enjoyed decorating her home and her yard that was always beautiful with hostas, ferns and buttercups. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Palmyra, TN.
The family would like to thank Caris Hospice and the sitters for all their help.
Survivors include her daughter, Peggy Thompson of Dickson, TN; son, Michael Allen Thompson of Dickson, TN; her beloved pets, JJ and Boomer; special friends, Tashia Blanks and her husband Jeremy and their daughter, Grayce Blanks, Carol Gibbs and Vicky Donegan; niece and nephew, Mechelle DePriest and William (Emily) DePriest; sitter, Ms. LuRosa Nenna; cousins, Andy Potts, Juanita Potts-Elder; longtime friend, Kelli Austin and her daughters, Krystal Cardwell and April Brake; several other nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather for graveside services on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 2 PM in the Marvin Addition of Union Cemetery with Pastor Randy Thompson officiating. https://taylorsince1909.com
