Carolyn Ann Hannah Rye, age 89 of Ooltewah, TN, formerly of Dickson, TN, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2025. Born in Houston County, she was the daughter of the late Elmore Kline “Jimmy” Hannah and Ruth Carson Hannah and was preceded in death by her husband, Pastor George Boone Rye, and her daughter, Rhonda Marie Rye.
Carolyn was kind, compassionate, caring, and the best pastor’s wife anyone could ever ask for. She was a true example of what it means to be a Godly woman, full of grace, humility, and a servant’s heart. She poured love into everything she did, especially her cooking. She was a member of Harpeth Baptist Church and played the piano there for many years.
Survivors include her children, Steve Rye of Dickson, TN, Joel Rye of Fleming Island, FL, Carol Rye Brogan (Wayne) of Ringgold, GA, Lisa Rye Phares (James) of Ooltewah, TN; 7 grandchildren, Javier McCollum, Michelle McCollum, Hannah Rye, Holly Sigman (Bradley), Lindsey C. Phares, Rachel Brogan, Kenneth Brogan; 1 great granddaughter, Lily Diane Sigman; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 10 AM at the Hudson Cemetery in Houston County with Pastor Chanc Strickland officiating. https://taylorsince1909.com
