Doris Marie Gardner, born on March 31, 1941, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2025. A devoted individual, Doris found joy in a variety of pursuits. She enjoyed reading, solving puzzles, and cross-stitching, which showcased her creativity and attention to detail.
Movies were also a passion, as was her love for the mountains, where she frequently sought solace and inspiration. A faithful follower of Jesus, Doris cherished her Bible and drew strength from her faith throughout her life. She will be fondly remembered for her vibrant spirit and dedication to the things she loved.
Graveside Service: will begin at 2:00 PM on Monday, May 12, 2025 at Union Cemetery in Dickson, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you honor their loved one by doing something special for yourself or your family—a heartfelt act of love in their memory.
Survived by: Daughter: Deb Gardner of Dickson, TN; Son: Jimbo Gardner (Lynda) of Charlotte, TN; 4 Grandchildren: Mikale Gardner (Krista), Devon Lyons (Billy), Matt Doolittle, Rachel Curtis (Hunter); 5 Great Grandchildren: Josey, Harmon, Addison, Freyja, Mara; As well as several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by: Parents: Otis & Tommie (Sollis) Maynard; Husband: Willis “Jim” Gardner; Daughter: Lisa Marie Doolittle; Siblings: Diane, Tom, Jerry, Brownie, and Max.
