Frances Jane Violet Mattox, age 83 of White Bluff, passed away on October 12, 2024, at NHC Healthcare of Dickson.
She was born on June 16, 1941, in Lawrence County to the late Earl and Clora Garland Violet.
Frances, along with her late husband Clay, successfully owned and operated Mattox Jewelers for many years, with locations in Nashville, Waverly, and Erin. She loved her family dearly and loved all her nieces and nephews as her own children. She also had a very close relationship with each of her 4 siblings. She was a longtime member of the Primitive Baptist denomination.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years upon his passing: Clay Mattox; and a grandson: Nathaniel Clay Kaiser.
Survivors include her children: Chris Mattox (Carla) of White Bluff and Gail Lynch (Frank) of McEwen; her siblings: Ruth Abee of Morristown, Margie Norwood (Jimmy) of Leoma, Martha Sudduth of Murfreesboro, and Elder Paul Violet of Smithville; her grandchildren: Callie Silvers (Will) of Vanleer and Connor Mattox of White Bluff; one great-grandson: Liam Silvers; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 12 noon in the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home with Elder Paul Violet officiating. Interment will follow in Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens in Nashville. Visitation with the family will take place on Friday, October 18, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. http://taylorsince1909.com
