J.C. Tidwell, age 90 of Burns, TN passed away in the early morning of Monday, November 4, 2024.
Mr. Tidwell was born September 26, 1934 in Hickman County, TN. He was a son of the late McKinley Tidwell and the late Martha Sullivan Tidwell.
He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. J.C. was a truck driver and retired in 1996 from Overnite Transportation. He enjoyed the outdoors, farming, mowing yards and was always planning ahead to plant his vegetable garden each spring. It brought joy to his heart to share his harvest with family and friends. He was a very loving, kind, family-oriented man and believed that family always came first. He was a frequent visitor at the Dickson Senior Center. Mr. Tidwell was a long-time member of the Walnut Street Church of Christ.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Tucker Tidwell; his siblings, Lloyd Tidwell, Zella Lampley, Oda Tidwell, Ewin Tidwell, and Duel Tidwell.
Mr. J.C. Tidwell is survived by his children, Monica Tidwell of Burns, TN, Melanie Evans (Bert) of Burns, TN, Marita Simms (Ken) of Burns, TN, and Jason Tidwell (Amanda) of Burns, TN; his siblings, Molly Pokley of Kentucky, Snow Tidwell of Dickson, TN, and Ivene Brown (Wesley) of Kentucky; sister-in-law, Lillian Tidwell; grandchildren, Mistie Skinner (James), Matthew Bohler (Charrise), Jay Evans (Kylee), and Elaina Mayes (Alex); step-grandchild, Preslee Douglas (Zach); 5 great-grandchildren; 1 step-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at the Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Baggett officiating. The interment will follow in the Dickson County Memorial Gardens. The visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
