Julia Ann Hooper, 99 years of age, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025, at Dickson Health and Rehab in Dickson, TN. Born on May 27, 1926, in the same town to the late, Ervin and Mary Ann (Bowker) Garrett.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Sherman Hooper, and her dear grandchildren John, Craig, and Rebecca Hooper, as well as her siblings Pearl Garrett Reep, Willie, Melvin, James “Slim”, Ewing, Allen, Robert, and Johnny Garrett. She is survived by her children, Roger (and wife Donna) Hooper, Larry Wayne Hooper, and Sharon Hooper; four grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Those who had the privilege to know Julia would describe her as loving, kind, strong willed and generous. She loved her family and most definitely, her grandchildren. As a devoted homemaker, her cooking was loved by all who had the privilege to enjoy. Julia was a cherished member of Liberty Methodist Church in Charlotte, TN. She enjoyed reading a good book, however, her competitive yet playful spirit came alive during BINGO games, where she shared laughter and companionship with those that she played with.
A Graveside service will be Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Liberty Cemetery in Charlotte, TN, at 1:00 P.M. with Bro. Thomas Sullivan officiating.
