Linda Lou Johnson Miller, age 79 of Cumberland Furnace, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2026.
Linda’s proudest and most cherished title was “Mom,” but she would tell you that being “Granny” and “GG” was just as sweet. Nothing in this world meant more to her than her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also shared a deep and devoted love for her husband, Tom. Her family was her greatest joy and her biggest blessing. She believed deeply in the Lord, and her faith guided the way she loved, served, and cared for others every single day.
She found so much joy in the Great Smoky Mountains, a place that felt like home to her heart. She loved the mountains, especially the black bears, and treasured the many trips spent there with her daughters, sisters, and nieces, making memories with those she loved. In recent years, she looked forward to her weekly outings with the “Olden Girls,” as they proudly called themselves. Those friendships brought her laughter, stories, and the sweetest companionship.
She truly had a servant’s heart. She showed love through her cooking, always making sure everyone was fed, comfortable, and cared for. Taking care of others wasn’t just something she did, it was who she was. That’s why she spent most of her life working, caring for adults with disabilities in a residential home. She didn’t just see it as a job, she saw it as another way to love and serve people. Whether at work or at home, she was always taking care of someone.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Miller; her parents, Malcom & Callie Johnson; her son, Gary Baldwin Jr.; 2 daughters, Sherry Gardner, Kimberly Clayborne; and 6 siblings, Harl Johnson, Daisy Hartman-Manier, Bobbie England, Douglas Johnson, JR Johnson, Dorothy Hester.
Linda is survived by her son-in-law, Steven Gardner; her grandchildren, Brittney Gibson (Jordan), Logan Gardner (Alexis), Kaitlyn Stotts (Kel), Sydney Clayborne; her great grandchildren, Lily Gibson, Ivy Gibson, Rhett Gibson. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 23, 2026 at the Taylor Funeral home with Bro. Jerry Duke officiating. Interment will follow in the Nosegay Cemetery in White Bluff, TN. The visitation will be held on Monday from 11:00 AM until the time of service. https://taylorsince1909.com
