Lucille Schlegel Obit

Lucille Schlegel passed away peacefully on December 5, 2025, at the age of 77, at Hillcrest Healthcare Center in Ashland City, Tennessee.

She was born on February 27, 1948, in Springfield, Tennessee, to the late John Henry and Lillie (Wallace) Jackson. Lucille loved her grandbabies immensely and was very fond of her pets. She dedicated her professional life to the well-being of others. Her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant was marked by her unwavering commitment to providing exceptional care to those in need. Lucille’s gentle touch and warm smile were a source of comfort to many during her years of service at Developmental Services and Hillcrest Rehabilitation Center.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Lucille found joy and contentment in the simple pleasures of life, such as flower gardening, as she was known to have a “green thumb.” Her love for word search puzzles was another hallmark of her leisure time. Her zest for life extended to her enjoyment of shopping, where she was known for her frequent trips to Walmart, each time leaving with a basket full. Her love for Shoney’s was equally well-known, as she would often be found savoring her favorite meals at the popular eatery, always accompanied by her beloved cup of black coffee—a constant companion throughout her day.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Schlegel; children, Heather Daugherty and Bradley Harris; brothers, John H. Jackson, Jr., Mitchell Jackson, and Charles “Donkey” Jackson; and sisters, Betty Blackburn, Georgie Daugherty, Lena May Buie, Patsy Dean, and Edna Barnes. Those left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, Brittny Daugherty (Trevor), Courtny Plaster, Savanah Harris (Casey), and Bradley Rayne Daugherty; great-grandchildren, Yevangeline Francis, Dayton Plaster, James Cain, Stone Plaster, and Draven Triplett; step-son, Erik Schlegel; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Harris; brother, Billy Joe Jackson; and sister, Joann Qualls; best friend of 50 years, Jayne Shelton; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Visitation and services will be on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Dickson Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. until the hour of service at 1:00 P.M.
