Paula Jean “Jeannie” Berend Snow peacefully passed on June 10, 2025, surrounded by lots of love after a 9-year battle with cancer. She fought and beat cancer, but at a cost that robbed her of so much.
Jeannie was born on May 13, 1948, in Denton, TX. She was raised in Pilot Point, TX. Jeannie was the middle child and only daughter of Lawrence “Lonnie” Louis Berend and Anna Nadine “Nick” Riney Berend.
Jeannie had a wonderful childhood and talked about many of her favorite stories, people and memories until her last days.
One of her most beautiful stories was about her husband, Henry “Hank”Wayne Snow. Hank and Jeannie were high school sweethearts that were separated by war and time, but neither were enough to keep them apart.
Reunited at their 30-year high school reunion, they were married February of 1997 and shared a beautiful 28 years together. Hank was always by her side even when she took her last breath.
Jeannie raised her two children, Major General Anthony “Tony” L McQueen and Tanya McQueen Forman in Columbus, TX where she lived for
27 years. She never missed a sporting event; sitting in the bleachers watching football, volleyball or tennis was her happiest and she never failed to be standing at the door with her famous grimace as they both walked in past curfew, which was always. After marrying Hank, she made her home in Dickson, TN where she gained three more children, Joe, Jennifer and Justin Snow.
But the greatest joy of Jeannie’s life was her grandchildren, who even on her darkest days made things better. She would talk endlessly about her grandchildren; Tanner McQueen, Lily McQueen, Cullen Wiese, Caden Wiese, Owen Forman, Thisbe Forman, Michael Snow, Matthew Snow, Eliana Bennett and Ember Snow. She was preceded in death by Joe Snow and her brother Dan Berend. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
In her professional career Jeannie worked in management for a trucking company and later worked as a real estate agent with ERA in Dickson, TN.
