Roy Edward Thomas, age 74, of Cumberland Furnace, Tennessee, passed away on October 10, 2024.
Born on August 16, 1950, in Nashville, Tennessee, he was the son of the late John Edward and Georgie Marelle Thomas.
Roy married the love of his life, Quindal Harwell, on December 6, 1971, in Nashville. A proud Vietnam Veteran, he embodied a spirit of service and dedication that extended far beyond his military commitments.
Roy had a passion for life that shone through in everything he did. He found joy in cutting his grass, tending to his garden, and cooking delicious meals for his loved ones. His favorite moments were spent on the front porch swing, surrounded by family, especially his great-grandchildren, whom he adored. Roy was known for his loving, generous nature and his unwavering diligence. He was always ready to lend a helping hand, whether on the farm or at home, and he consistently sought the best for his family.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Quindal Thomas; his son, Joshua Matthew Thomas; grandson, Jacob Matthew Thomas (Lexi); and great-grandchildren, Sawyer Matthew Thomas, Walker Mathew Thomas, and Jones Edward Thomas. He is also survived by his siblings, Sarah Pauline Thomas and Deborah Jean Thomas; his nieces and nephews, Olivia Dorris, Mende Pattee, Herb Jenkins III, Marelle Patterson, and Callie Walker; and many cherished cousins.
Roy will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday, October 17, 2024 from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204, followed by a graveside service beginning at 3:30 pm. https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/nashville-tn
