Shane Turner (Larry E. Turner Jr.), age 53 and resident of Lynnville, TN, has entered into eternal rest on June 9, 2025.

Born on May 3, 1972, in Perry County, TN, Shane was the son of Shanna Turner-Tenold of Burns, TN, and the late Larry E. Turner Sr. of Lobelville, TN, where Shane resided for 32 years. Shane graduated from Perry County High School and earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Nashville State Technical Institute while working several jobs pursuing an automotive career. His professional career kicked off in Franklin, TN, as a project engineer before transitioning into automotive sales. Later, he achieved a specialized degree in Business Finance from the College of Automotive Management, a profession in which he would thrive for over 20 years.

Though he worked at several dealerships over the years, Shane found his true home at Walker Chevrolet in Franklin in 2015. Fondly known by customers and coworkers alike as “Chevy Shane” (a nickname he earned back in 2011), he built a loyal customer base through his inviting and passionate reputation. His friendly personality, paired with a sharp mind for finance and an unmatched work ethic, helped him rise to the role of Finance Director. Shane embraced every day with humor and heart, forming lifelong friendships with his colleagues along the way and always making the effort to put a smile on people’s faces. He was successful not just because he was good at what he did, but because he truly loved his job as well as the people he served and who surrounded himself with.

Shane had an incredible love for his family and friends, which was evident in his words and actions. Despite the demands that come with a long and successful career, Shane was a hands-on and deeply involved husband and father. As much as he gave to the world, he gave even more to his home. As a husband, he was the steady rock for his family — a loving provider, a source of strength, and the heart of his home. As a father, he was tireless in his support: a fundraising machine, a proud cheer and dance dad, and a dedicated travel soccer volunteer, always showing up and never missing an opportunity to support his girls. His commitment to his blended family was unwavering and a true reflection of his generous and loving spirit.

Outside of being a loving husband and father, Shane was an avid outdoorsman, coffee connoisseur, soft-hearted dog-lover, firearms enthusiast, and master DIY-er. Shane’s passion for fishing and canoeing bloomed in the little creeks along the Buffalo River during his childhood in Lobelville and carried through to his deep sea fishing adventures in the Gulf and Key West. He cherished the ritual of starting his mornings with a perfect cup of coffee, a hand-crafted latte made from freshly ground Black Rifle Coffee beans, and loved sharing that joy by offering to make a cup for anyone nearby.

Shane was the enthusiastic founder of his home in Lynnville, affectionately known as “The Ruff Life Ranch,” and a devoted dog dad to his beloved rescue pack: Duke, Bobo, Bosco, Liberty, and Roxy. Together, they brought Shane endless joy and were, without question, massively spoiled. The dogs loved their turn for a truck ride, with their heads out the window and ears flapping in the wind, especially knowing that chicken nuggets and pup cups were always on the drive-thru menu. At home, they were his constant companions. Whether trailing behind him in the yard like loyal little helpers or curling up beside him on the couch or bed while he watched his favorite shows, they were never far from his side. Shane’s compassion for animals extended far beyond his own pack. He was always quick to help a stray in need, whether reuniting a lost pet with its family or finding safe, loving homes for animals with nowhere else to go. His kindness and dedication to animals was just one of the many ways he lived with heart and purpose.

Despite his love for all things Cheverolet, Shane’s mechanical prowess extended well beyond cars. He took pride in the craftsmanship of firearms, thoughtfully modified his collection, and upheld his reputation as a “perfect shot” at the range. Additionally, when he wasn’t working at the dealership, Shane was a remarkably handy guy and could often be found tackling home improvement projects. From small fixes to major overhauls, each project was a true labor of love. He poured his heart into everything he built, driven by a relentless dedication to creating a beautiful, comfortable life for his family and dogs.

Shane is survived by his loving wife, Heidi Turner, and his two daughters, Elizabeth (Buffy) Lehman and Sophia Carter. He is also survived by his loving mother Shanna Turner-Tenold and his step-father Mark Tenold of Burns, TN; his devoted brother, Chad Turner, his sister-in-law, Amy Turner, and their son, Ethan Holman of Dickson, TN. Shane is also survived by his extended family, his step-brother, Corey Tenold, and his step-sister-in-law, Ashlee Tenold, his aunts, Judy Brown and Rebecca Maffucci, and his many beloved cousins. Shane’s presence in their lives was a gift, and his memory will continue to guide them.

Additionally, Shane will be missed by his in-laws: his parents-in-law Ron and Tina Branson, his brothers-in-law Lee and Nick Branson, and sister-in law, Amber Branson.

Shane was preceded in death by his father, Larry E. Turner Sr., his grandparents, O.C. and Mary Lou Turner of Lobelville, TN, James and Ruth Hooten of Centerville, TN. He was also preceded in death by his uncle Vance Turner, Aunts Charlotte Spears, Colleen Curtis, and Eleanor Woodard, as well as cousins Troy Hill, Danny Ray Orton, and Elijah Spivey.
