Sonny Kevin Henry, 62 of Dickson Tennessee passed away, Friday, June 6, 2025. He was born on June 25, 1962, in Owensboro, Kentucky. The son to Charles Ray and Victorine (Padgett) Henry.
Early in life, he was a plumber by trade serving many communities in Chicago, Illinois.
Sonny is survived by his mother, Victorine Hunniford, of Dickson Tennessee, three brothers, John Ray Henry of Owensboro, Kentucky, Ernest ‘Lee’ Merritt of Fairview, Tennessee and Edward Leon Merritt, of Portage Indiana, Former companion and mother of his children, Elizabeth Ann Smith, of Portage, Indiana.
Two children, Kevin Edward Smith (Jewelle), of Fairmont West Virginia and Anna Marie Dozier (Miguel), of Portage Indiana. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Kevin Smith Jr., Mary Hamlett, Mya Smith, Jennica Smith, Janai Smith, Kaleb Smith, Janelle Smith, Miguel Dozier Jr, Marianna Dozier, Jayden Dozier, Lilliana Dozier, Annalise Dozier, and Gianni Dozier.
Three great grandchildren, Kevin Smith III, Jamison Smith and Jason Warnock. As well as, several nieces and nephews.
He is proceeded in death by his dad, Ernest Edward Merritt, sister Diania Fay Merritt, 2 brothers; Jimmy Ray Merritt and James Earl Merritt and 2 grandchildren; Kevon Edward Smith, and Angel Dozier.
A private service will be held for family. Pastor Eric Vick of Old Paths Bible Baptist Church in Lyles, TN, will be officiating. Online condolences may be left at www.dicksonfuneralhome.com.
