Taylor ShyAnn Ratterree, also known as “Gus”, by her family, passed away on December 16th, 2025, at the tender age of 17.
She was born January 22nd, 2008, in Nashville, Tennessee, to Richard Ratterree and Debby (Hensley) Benner. Taylor’s infectious smile and boundless creativity left an indelible mark in her short time with us.
She approached life with a warm heart, treating everyone she met as if they were a long-lost friend. Taylor was known for her friendliness and openness. She was a strong willed and sensitive young lady. Her passions were as colorful and diverse as her personality. She adored the world of art, expressing her vivid imagination through drawing and crocheting. An avid angler, Taylor found peace and solace by the water’s edge. Fishing was a cherished pastime, one that allowed her to merge her love for nature with the patience and serenity that defined so much of her character. Her friendly demeanor was her signature, a creative spark always present in her eyes, and a loving attitude that embraced all without hesitation or reserve.
Those left to cherish her memory are her father, Richard (Jessica) Ratterree; mother, Debby Benner; siblings, Addison and Kaitee Mae; grandparents, Tommy Hensley, Debby Hensley (Victor), Tracy Willard, and James Ratterree; uncles, Heath (Laura) Hensley, Zack (Brittany) Hensley, James Ratterree, Jr., Matthew Ratterree, Michael Baldwin, and Danny Staton; and cousins, Micah and Rebecca.
