Teresa Anne Weems, age 96, passed away on May 4, 2025 at Blount Memorial Hospital in Mayville, Tennessee.

Anne was born on August 22, 1928 in Burns, Tennessee. She graduated high school in 1945 and went to work for the National Life & Accident Insurance Company in Nashville, Tennessee. She began as a key punch operator and later worked on the first computer acquired by the company.

She married the love of her life, Freeman Garland Weems in 1947. When their first child was born in 1951, she left work for a while. She went back to work in 1952. After her second child was born in 1959, she left work to become a full-time mother and home maker. She worked with her husband to raise their boys, and to live a farm life where she excelled at cooking, canning, and freezing to preserve the fruits and vegetables raised on the farm. She became a very good seamstress and made many of the outfits that she wore. She worked with arts and crafts for most of her life. After her husband retired, they took painting lessons and produced many beautiful paintings.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Garland; her father, Elbert Floyd Hall; her mother, Mary Ann (Lowe) Hall. Also preceded by her sister, Ruth Christine Fielder and her brother, Daniel Floyd (Dan) Hall.

She leaves behind her son, Michael (Mike) Garland Weems and his wife, Mary Ellen (Brown) Weems; two granddaughters, Suzanne (Suzi) Elizabeth Middleton and Melissa (Missie) Diane McGinley; a son-in-law Patrick McGinley; three great grandchildren, Sarah Beth Middleton, Calleigh Joanne McGinley, Christopher Daniel McGinley; her youngest son, Howard Floyd Weems.

Visitation will be at Taylor Funeral Home Friday, May 9, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Saturday from 12:00 Noon until the time of service at 2:00 PM. https://taylorsince1909.com

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Weems Cemetery Fund, The American Cancer Society, or the American Heart Association.

She is to be buried beside her husband in the Weems Cemetery in the East Piney Community.
