Thomas Powell ‘Tommy’ Noland, age 69, of Dickson, TN, passed away on May 12, 2025 at his home.
He was born in Dickson on November 8, 1955 to John B. and Loretta Powell Noland.
He was in the first graduating class of Dickson County High School in 1973. He attended and was a long-time member of Burns United Methodist Church. Tom graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 1977 with a bachelor’s degree in physics and earned his master’s degree in physics, from New Mexico State University in 1979. He was married to the love of his life, Denise Jaquet and they lived in Alexandria, Virginia. After Denise’s death in 2018, he returned to Dickson, Tennessee.
Tom excelled in naming pets and had a keen sense of humor. He loved board games and was a “master” at Scrabble. He also enjoyed Mexican food and was the ‘star’ of the “Iron Hill Gang” at Tuesday Night Trivia!
Tommy was predeceased by his wife, Denise; his parents, John and Loretta Noland; his brother, Benny Noland (and Benny’s wife, Kathy).
Survivors include his son, Paul Noland of Alexandria, VA; his sister, Vickie Stevens of Dickson; two brothers, John Noland (Michelle) of Houston, TX, and Don Noland (Kimberly) of Rockwood, TN; his sister-in-law, Susan Jaquet (Philippe); his aunt and uncle, Peggy and Charles Frey, of Schertz, TX; a very special family friend and caregiver, Hanna Ibraham; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorial services for Thomas Powell “Tommy” Noland will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at 2 PM from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Sunday at 12 Noon until the time of service. https://taylorsince1909.com
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a church or charity of one’s choice.
