Venie Mae Holt Sanders, age 94, of Dickson, TN, passed away on December 31, 2025. Venie Mae was born in Martin, TN, on March 20, 1931, to the late Jim & Matilda Holt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Odell Sanders, her brothers, Jimmy Holt, Charles Holt, and Ronald Holt.
She worked at Schrader’s in Dickson for over 20 years and also worked at Kroger in Dickson, where she retired.
She leaves to cherish her passing, her daughter, Connie Bell (Maryland), her brother, Donald Holt (Carolyn), her niece, Cassandra Holt (Adrienne), her nephews, Kenyatras Payne (Sarah), and Seneca Shields. Venie Mae had several special friends, James Satterfield & Satterfield Family, Frances Holt, Portia Holt, William Poindexter, her work friend, Fannie Edmonson, and Maryland Bell, special cousins, Dorothy & Willie Mays, Wilbert & Joyce Hogan, along with devoted friends, Gene Sanders (Ruby).
Venie Mae was a loving person whom everyone loved. She loved to talk to people and she will be sadly missed by her family.
The family wishes to thank NHC Healthcare Staff, Tristar Horizon Hospital, Dr. Robert Orgain & Staff for the help during her sickness.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at 2PM from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Pastor James Satterfield will give the eulogy. Visitation was held on Sunday from 1PM until the time of service. Burial will follow in the Dickson County Memorial Gardens. https://taylorsince1909.com
