Walter Hix Choate, age 85 of Dickson, TN passed away Saturday December 13, 2025. Born in Dickson County he was the son of the late Holland Choate and Gertrude Parchman Choate and he was preceded in death by his brothers, Howard “Gabe” Choate, Dennis Choate, Jerry Choate, Eddie Choate; his son-in-law Ronnie Cauthen. He worked in Construction.
Survived by his wife of 65 years, Rosa Guthrie Choate; children: Pattie Cauthen, Pam Lewis (Jerry), Penny Whitaker (Kenneth); six grandchildren: Brandy Cauthen (Kyle Gordon) , Justin Myatt (Logan Springer), Jessica Perry (Josh), Tashawna Lowe (Richard “JR”), Mason Whitaker, Rylan Whitaker; 11 great grandchildren; Sisters: Janice Leatherwood (Charles), Eva Neil Jones; a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday December 18, 2025 at 1 PM from the Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home. Place of rest will be in the Edgewood Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday December 17th from 4 to 8 PM and on Thursday from 11 AM until time of service. https://taylorsince1909.com
