The Dickson County Sheriff’s Office is reminding drivers to move over when emergency vehicles are on the side of the road, as a deputy vehicle, sitting stationary on I-40 East, was struck Tuesday night.

Two deputies were blocking a lane of travel, with emergency equipment activated, when it was struck from behind, the Dickson County Sheriff’s Office wrote on Facebook.

Luckily, both deputies were outside of their vehicles and did not sustain any injuries. The driver was treated for injuries, but the injuries were not life-threatening.

Dickson County Sheriff’s Office says this is the second time this week that a police vehicle has been struck on Interstate 40 while parked with emergency equipment activated.
