Billy Wayne Rockey, beloved by many, passed away on April 26, 2024, at Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville, TN.
He was born May 24, 1959, in his hometown of Dickson, TN, to the late Wayne and Elizabeth (Weems) Rockey.
Billy led a life filled with passion and creativity.
Throughout his diverse career, Billy found joy in various roles. He was known for his exceptional skills as a cake decorator during his time at Walmart’s bakery; and also within his family. Additionally, he contributed his talents as an assistant manager at the local Chappell’s CeeBee food stores and later as a Business Office Specialist at Amedysis Home Health.
In his leisure time, being an artist brought Billy the most happiness. He immersed himself in activities such as coloring and painting – particularly enjoying water and oil painting along with painting pottery. Thomas Kinkade was his favorite artist. Described as having OCD tendencies yet maintaining a humorous and charismatic personality, Billy brightened every room he entered. His artistic flair shone through not only in his creations but also in the colorful aura he emanated. Known for livening up any gathering with his jokes and laughter, he became the life of the party wherever he went.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Rachel Hadden; sister, Vickey Edwards; and best friend, Diane Daugherty.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 13 years, Brenda Rockey; loving daughter, Erin (Chad) Yates; step-sons, Phillip (Tamala) Underhill and Daniel Underhill; cherished grandchildren: Emma Yates, Damon Castillo, Kody Underhill, Trent Hill, and Taylor Cook; great-grandchildren: Carter and Cason; supportive brother, Tony (Jackie) Rockey; loyal fur baby companion, Oscar; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as a treasured friend named Tabby.
Visitation services will begin on Friday, May 3, 2024, at Dickson Funeral Home, from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Freedom Baptist Church, 910 Faith Rd, Dickson, TN. at 10:00 AM until the hour of service at 2:00 PM. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Freedom Baptist Church, at 2:00 PM, with Bro. Dennie Boren officiating. Interment will follow in Adcock Cemetery. https://www.dicksonfuneralhome.com
