October 11, 2023 – The Dickson Police Department is warning residents of another phone scam that is circulating.
The scammer is calling residents about unserved warrants and asking for money.
The scammer pretends to be from the Dickson Police Department. The police said they are using the name Matt Norris, who is a Patrol Lieutenant; however, Dickson Police assure residents Lt Norris is not calling soliciting money in exchange for a “get out of jail free card”.
If you receive a call like this, hang up and block the number. If you have fallen victim to a call like this and lost money, please call dispatch and speak to a deputy.
Again, we will never call anyone and ask for money to avoid a warrant!
