The Dickson Parks and Recreation Department’s Music in the Park series continues July 11 with local singer/songwriter Daryl Cauthen.
The free concert will be 6-8 pm on the stage of Holland Park, next door to the Clement Railroad Hotel Museum in downtown Dickson. The series features free monthly performances May-August.
A Dickson native, country singer/songwriter Cauthen started playing guitar as a young teen with the help of his uncle and soon after receiving his first guitar. At the age of 15, he wrote his first song: “Queen of My Broken Heart,” which he says is still a crowd favorite at his shows. Cauthen’s repertoire of original songs is now over 100.
Cauthen’s first stage appearance was at Dickson’s Grand Old Hatchery on South Main Street in downtown and has grown to include some of the most iconic stages in Music City. He has performed on stages such as The Wildhorse Saloon and Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge among other historic venues in downtown Nashville with his former band The Craggie Hope Band.
He continues to perform locally and at private events both as a solo artist and with his new Daryl Cauthen Band.
He has performed recently at The Fillin’ Station in Kingston Springs, One19 Craft Kitchen and Brewery in Dickson, Pig N Pub in White Bluff, Dickson Sports Bar and Grill, 641 Music Barn in Camden and other area venues.
Cauthen is a successful business owner and operator of Walnut Grove Woodcraft. He and wife Tasha have three children.
The 2025 Music in the Park series began May 9 with Tumbleweed Preacher, while the June 13 concert with Maggie Valley Express was canceled due to weather.
Those attending the Music in the Park concert series can bring lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy the free concert. Alcohol is not allowed in city parks. For more information, contact the Dickson Parks and Recreation Department at (615) 446-1721.
