Downtown Dickson is set to usher in the holiday season this Saturday with the 2025 Annual Dickson Christmas Parade and tree lighting, featuring the theme Christmas Through the Decades. The event is expected to draw families from across the area for one of the city’s largest seasonal gatherings.

The evening will open with a 5 p.m. tree-lighting ceremony in Tom H. Waychoff Memorial Park, where Mayor Don L. Weiss Jr. will activate the city’s Christmas tree alongside Santa and Mrs. Claus. Members of The Renaissance Players will perform selections from their upcoming production of A Christmas Carol, the Musical, scheduled for Dec. 5–14 at Creek Wood High School.

City officials say public works crews have completed decorations at Waychoff Park, including snow machines added in recent years to enhance the atmosphere.

Following the ceremony, the parade will move from Dickson County High School through the downtown corridor, showcasing floats, community groups, and performances aligned with this year’s decade-themed concept. The route concludes near Dickson Middle School.

Downtown merchants will continue the festivities next month with Christmas in Downtown Dickson on Friday, Dec. 5, offering extended store hours, carriage rides, entertainment, and visits with Santa.
