The Dickson County Public Library and Lifelong Learning Center is looking for a Children’s Librarian. This is a full-time position.
Job Description:
This position ensures the efficient operations of the Children’s Library, its programs, services and functions as a resource to all library departments. The Children’s Librarian provides excellence in customer service to members of the general public, other employees and volunteers.
The Children’s Library services include but are not limited to: multi-age and age specific story times, school visits, hosting school field trips and tours of the library, summer reading programs, craft programs, scheduling special visits by performers/authors, creating flyers and assembling display information to promote special collection holdings in the Teen’s and Children’s Library.
The service also include promoting programs through the use of flyers, information on the library website, and the library Facebook page, as well as providing information to schools and partner agencies who work with families.
Job Requirements: Preferred Master’s Degree in Library Science from an accredited ALA University, 3 years experience working with children in an educational environment is preferred for this position
