The Dickson Police Department will be hosting the Dickson Police Department’s Basic Citizen’s Police Academy, Class #8, starting March 7th, 2024.
The purpose of the Citizen’s Police Academy is to give citizen participants an understanding of the department’s mission, practices, and operations.
The classes will be on Thursdays for approximately 10 to 12 weeks depending on the weather. The sessions will take place from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm each night.
The classes are designed for students to learn more about the Dickson Police Department, the divisions within the department, and the operation of the department. This will include speakers and hands-on activities. The hands-on activities are not very physical. You will walk a short distance a couple of times. You will be participating in a driving course and a live fire night with the Special Response Team. The classes will also include the District Attorney General’s office and Communications Division.
