Chief Seth Lyles and the City of Dickson Police Department recently welcomed Tegan Woods to the Dickson Police Department.

Tegan Woods was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. After graduating from Cane Ridge High School, he married his high school sweetheart, Gabby, and then moved to Murfreesboro. Shortly after the birth of their first son, he enlisted in the United States Army in 2021. They relocated to Fort Bragg/ Fort Liberty, North Carolina, where he served as a combat engineer and paratrooper in the 37th Brigade Engineer Battalion of the 82nd Airborne Division. Tegan Woods thoroughly enjoyed serving his country and motivating his comrades in arms to be the best soldier they could be. From heavy gunner to primary armorer as a Specialist, he was never one to back down from difficult tasks. During all the training events and duties the military brought, he never failed to make time for his family. Including the birth of his daughter and second son. As his family grew, God put it on his heart to move back home and give his children the same opportunity of growing up in the state he loved and the family they lived apart from. Tegan then sought out the same sense of purpose of serving his country after receiving an honorable discharge from the Army. Tegan Woods hopes to use his experience in the military to bring safety and security to the City of Dickson.

Officer Woods will complete the Dickson Police Department Field Training Program and the 12-week Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy in 2025.
