Chief Jeff Lewis and the City of Dickson Police Department has welcomed Zane Withers to the City of Dickson Police Department this week.
Zane Withers was born and raised in Marion, Illinois. His grandfather, Roger Zane Withers, was in law enforcement and Zane has always had the hope to continue the tradition in his family.
Zane obtained his associate degree in criminal justice in 2010 and shortly thereafter started a Reserve Deputy position with Williamson County Sheriffs office in Illinois.
In 2013 he began his first paid position in the field as a dispatcher for the Marion Illinois Police Department. He would work his way up to become a communications training officer and eventually a supervisor.
Zane and his family made the decision to move to the Dickson area in 2021. He worked as a dispatcher for Williamson County, Tn for just shy of two years before ending up at Dickson Dispatch late last year.
Zane is excited to switch to the other side of the radio and serve the citizens of Dickson in person.
Zane will complete 12 weeks with a Field Training Officer and then attend the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy in the spring of 2024.
