Shirley June Smith, born on June 12, 1945, and peacefully departed from this world on November 5, 2024, lived a life marked by love, strength, and compassion. A devoted daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother, Shirley’s journey spanned nearly eight decades filled with cherished memories and heartfelt connections.
Shirley dedicated her professional life to Bellsouth, where she served with unwavering commitment across locations in both Ohio and Tennessee. Her career was a testament to her strong work ethic and dedication, traits that extended far beyond her professional life. In her personal life, she found joy in the exhilarating world of NASCAR. She was particularly fond of Jeff Gordon, whose races she followed with fervor, and later, she delighted in watching Chase Elliott compete on the track as a new favorite.
Shirley was also known for her profound capacity for nurturing and caregiving. In her later years, she lovingly took on the role of caregiver for her parents, offering them the same kindness and support they had always provided her. This selfless dedication highlighted her character—a woman who prioritized family above all else.
Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the absolute joys of her life. To them, she was not just a grandmother but a beacon of love and warmth. She cherished every moment spent with her family, celebrating milestones and creating countless vibrant memories that will be treasured forever. Her laughter, guidance, and comforting presence will be dearly missed but remain vividly alive in their hearts.
Shirley June Smith leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. As we remember her remarkable life, we take comfort in the many lives she touched and the love she so freely gave.
