August 23, 2024 – In March of 2024, the Dickson County Sheriff’s Office was made aware of possible inappropriate conduct by one of their corrections deputies, Calvin Lewis.

Allegations were made of sexual misconduct between Lewis and female inmates incarcerated at the Dickson County Jail. Sheriff Eads immediately prompted an internal affairs investigation, as well as requested a criminal investigation be conducted by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

Lewis was also immediately placed on administrative leave.

The internal affairs investigation resulted in the termination of Lewis. The TBI’s criminal investigation resulted in Lewis being charged with 3 Counts of Sexual Contact with Inmates. Mr. Lewis was taken into custody at his home Thursday.

“Our office does not condone, nor will we tolerate, any such behavior. The safety and security of inmates in our custody is of the highest importance. We have protocols in place that ensure allegations such as these are investigated properly and prosecuted when necessary,” Dickson County Sheriff’s Office stated.
