Four incumbent members of the Dickson City Council were sworn in to begin their new four-year terms.
After winning re-election Sept. 11, Council members Jason Epley, Kyle Sanders, Stacey Levine and Michael Outlaw took the oath of office from City Attorney Jerry Smith at the Oct. 6, 2025, City Council meeting.
The Dickson City Charter specifies that municipal elections are on the second Thursday in September of odd years and the winners begin their new terms on the first Monday in October.
The results of the municipal election were certified by the Dickson County Election Commission Sept. 23.
- First Ward Councilperson Jason Epley topped Karen Ramey Bell 110-59 in winning his third term.
- Second Ward Councilperson Kyle Sanders defeated Bill Woods 231-62 for his second term.
- Third Ward Councilperson Stacey Levine was unopposed and received 57 votes for her second term.
- Fourth Ward Councilperson Michael Outlaw was unopposed and received 50 votes to win his fifth term.
“I want to welcome all four of our returning councilmen back to the council,” said Mayor Don L. Weiss Jr. “I certainly look forward to working with each of you again. Congratulations and welcome back to the council.”
The eight-member Dickson City Council consists of two members from each of the city’s four wards with half the seats filled every two years. The remaining four council seats and the mayor’s office will be on the ballot Sept. 9, 2027.
Brett Reynolds (1st Ward) and Shane Chandler (2nd Ward) are currently in their first terms, having been elected in 2023. After first being elected in 2021, Kyle Sanders (2nd Ward) and Stacey Levine (3rd Ward) are starting their second terms. Jason Epley (1st Ward) joined the council in 2017 and is beginning his third term. Horace Perkins III (3rd Ward) was elected in 2011 and is in the middle of his fourth term. Michael Outlaw (4th Ward) is beginning his fifth term having first been elected in 2009. Dwight Haynes is the senior member of the council, having been elected in 2007 and is midway through his fifth term.
After six years on the City Council (1987-1993), Mayor Weiss is now in his eighth four-year term as mayor, having served 32 years since being appointed to complete the final two years of Tom Waychoff’s term in 1993 and then being elected to the office in 1995.
The Dickson City Council meets at 7:00 pm on the first Monday of each month in the Council Chambers at Dickson City Hall, 600 East Walnut St. All meetings are open to the public. Regular council sessions are broadcast on the Community Access Channel (Comcast 19) at 8:00 pm Thursdays and Saturdays.
