Just Love Coffee is coming to Dickson, Tennessee. Founded by Robb and Emily Webb in Murfreesboro, Tennessee in 2009 as a socially conscious business that originally sold coffee online and donated a percentage of profits to parents adopting children from overseas, they have since franchised the business. Dhaval and Paresh Patel will be co-owners of the Dickson location on the corner of College and Mathis Streets.

The Patels have recently opened a Just Love Coffee in Mount Juliet, and they also own other restaurants in the region both together and separately, including Dos Brothers Restaurant in Dickson. The Dickson Just Love Coffee location will be one of 17 new locations opening in 11 states in the near future.

Just Love Menu

All of the food offered in the new Just Love Café is made in a waffle iron, so there is little to no fat. There is a breakfast and a lunch/dinner menu. Breakfast includes waffles, of course, as well as burritos and the Webb’s own invention and signature dish, the womelette. They offer two womelettes, one with cheese and sausage and the other with spinach and feta cheese. Their bacon and hash brown waffle is to die for, served with ketchup and/or sour cream.  Although, it is highly recommended to ask for sour cream and some salsa instead of the ketchup. Yes, good!

The lunch/dinner menu includes wraps and waffle toasted sandwiches. There is something for everyone. Since Dhaval Patel is a vegetarian, he really loves that the menu includes items like Quinoa-Veggie Wrap, which contains hummus, cucumber, banana peppers, green bell peppers, quinoa black bean salad mix and spinach wrapped into spinach tortilla with served with a side of fresh-cut fruit and the Hummus & Veggies Plate, offering hummus, Kalamata olives, celery, carrots, cucumbers, grape tomatoes, dusted with oregano and cayenne pepper, served with a side of pita chips.

Meat lovers also have an array of choices, including the Roast Beef and Cheddar Melt, the Club Sandwich and the Chicken Quesadilla. But their classic three-cheese sandwich is a favorite, with pepper jack, giving it a bit of spice. It is perfect with one of their soups on a winter day.

Salads are fresh and tasty, including the Spinach Strawberry, Quinoa Black Bean and Chicken Caesar.

The biggest treat, besides the freshly ground coffee, is their waffles. They make a Breakfast Slider Waffle that is stuffed with cheese, egg and a choice of sausage or bacon that is perfect for those looking for something savory, but it is their sweet waffle combination that is a feast for the eyes and stomach. These include the Fruity Pebbles and Cream Waffle, the Stuffed Nutella Waffle, and the Chocolate Chip Cookie Waffle.

Of course, it is their coffees that they are best known for, including drip, cold brews, classic café coffees, espressos and lattes.  Teas and tea drinks are also offered.

History of the Location

Currently, work is being done on the build out of the old Rite Aid building that was remodeled by owners Dickson Title, LLC last year. The new Just Love Coffee will eventually include a mezzanine overlooking the dining area.

The location has a successful history. It was for more than 50 years the location of the East Hills Restaurant. The East Hill Restaurant was established in 1973 as a steak and seafood restaurant by John Luther, who passed away in 2019. The old restaurant was torn down in 1998 and Rite Aid opened at the location in 1999. Luther continued running the East Hill Bed and Breakfast, located nearby.

A Little About Just Love Coffee

Initially just a roasting company in a warehouse near a favorite gathering place in Murfreesboro, people began to smell the coffee and came asking to buy a cup.

“We got a little espresso machine and had a ‘name your price’ policy,” explained Webb on their website. “When enough people came in on their own volition, we decided we should open up a coffee shop.” That was 2011. The brand has been growing ever since, and they continue to be community involved and cause aware.

Excited about the business philosophy, coffee and the menu, the Patels will also be opening a Just Love Coffee in Ashland City in Cheatham County.
