Kids Fishing Rodeo at Buckner Park is scheduled for June 8, 2024.
The Fishing Rodeo begins at 6 am at Buckner Park Lake. The event is free for toddlers to age 16. Parents are asked to bring their children by the main tent near the marquee sign to register for the event—door prizes awarded to each participant while they last.
There is a weigh-in at 10 am, and prizes for the largest fish caught in each age group will be awarded.
TWRA has stocked the lake with catfish, Walmart will provide worms and water, Traditions Bank will provide donuts, and Parks and Recreation will provide milk, juice, and door prizes for participants.
The lake will be closed for fishing until June 8 at 6 am.
