The City of Dickson’s Parks and Recreation Department launches its 2025 Music in the Park concert series with Tumbleweed Preacher on Friday, May 9.

The free concert series features live music 6:00-8:00 pm each month May-August on the stage in Holland Park in downtown Dickson next to the Clement Railroad Hotel Museum.

Emerging from the hills of Middle Tennessee, Tumbleweed Preacher delivers raw, unfiltered outlaw country to barrooms across the South and last month completed a tour of shows in Wisconsin.

The Nashville-based acoustic duo is comprised of Charlotte resident Brad Janssen and Brennan McGuire of Nashville. Combining haunting vocal harmonies with masterful guitar work, the pair crafts tales of hard luck and redemption, echoing the defiance of Waylon Jennings and poetic melancholy of Townes Van Zandt.

Tumbleweed Preacher has performed regularly at Sensing Brothers VFW Post 4641 in Dickson, Turkey Creek Marina and headlined the Storytellers in Songwriting showcase in Brentwood.

Those attending the Music in the Park concert series can bring lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy the free concert. For more information, contact the Dickson Parks and Recreation Department at (615) 446-1721.

The Music in the Park series continues with free concerts June 13, July 11 and Aug. 1.
