“I wanted this song to feel like one of those late-night conversations where there’s no use sugarcoating anything anymore,” McKeever shares. “It’s about facing heartbreak head-on, without the games, without the drama. Sonically, it’s a little left-of-center for me, leaning into this nostalgic, 1950s-inspired vibe that I haven’t really explored before. I can’t wait for my fans to hear it.”

Luke Bryan- Dan Seals
A new duets project from record label Melody Place launches with country superstar Luke Bryan joining the late Dan Seals on his 1986 chart-topper “Everything That Glitters (Is Not Gold),” co-written by Seals and Bob McDill. The song, produced by Seals’ longtime producer Kyle Lehning pays homage to one of country music’s truest voices, 16 years after his untimely passing.
“When I think of all time iconic songs, this one definitely comes top of mind,” Luke Bryan said. “Dan was an artist I had on repeat and actually still do. I sang this song when I was back in Georgia and now to be here and paired with him on this new release is just unbelievable.”

Jamey Johnson – Ronnie Dunn
When Jamey Johnson and Ronnie Dunn recorded “Never Gonna Be,” is out now- the lyrics had special meaning to Johnson because Dunn co-wrote the song about him. The recording is a poignant full-circle moment because Dunn and co-writer Terry McBride wrote the song about Johnson 15 years ago, just as the Alabama native’s career was taking off.
“It makes me think of my early days in Nashville, bringing my guitar downtown to play,” Johnson says. “Once I was playing Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge and came back out and my 1986 Dodge had been towed. It reminds me of those days when everybody out there was working hard and trying to get noticed and write a better song and perform a version of it live.”

JOHNNYSWIM
Husband-and-wife duo JOHNNYSWIM (Abner Ramirez and Amanda Sudano Ramirez) release “Break My Heart (A Song For The Lodge)” today, marking the second of five new tracks from the deluxe edition of their acclaimed fifth studio album When The War Is Over, arriving October 3. Following last week’s lush, dreamlike “Sweet Tangerine,” the new song finds the duo reflecting on transient beauty. “Last year we went on a trip to a lodge in Idaho and I daydreamed about a heartbroken cowboy,” shares Abner. “The song started as his story, but really it’s about the beautiful moments in life. Even when they end, even when they’re taken from you, they don’t lose their beauty—because at least you had them, held them, felt them… for a little while.” See the duo at The Pinnacle on October 25th.

Vince Gill
Gill was inspired to write the song following the death of his friend, country singer and at-the-time labelmate Keith Whitley, but it was the death of Gill’s brother Bob in 1993 that compelled him to complete it. However, in 2019 during one of his Christmas at the Ryman performances with wife Amy Grant, Gill performed the song but included a new verse. “The last thirty years I’ve always felt like something was missing from this song,” Gill explained recently. “With this new third verse I finally feel like the song is complete.”
In updating the recording, Gill used all the original tracks adding only his vocals for the new verse.
