Over the past 48 hours, now Tropical Depression Nicholas brought lots of heavy rain and devastating flooding to Texas. Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama are expected to still get more rain today as Nicholas slowly moves over the states.

The National Hurricane Center has expired all storm surge and tropical storm warnings. The National Weather Service will continue any other warnings as needed as Nicholas moves through the south.

Heading back out into the Atlantic just off the west coast of Africa, a tropical disturbance is churning and NHC has forecasted an 80% chance for this storm to form a cyclone within the next 24 hours. This could potentially be our next Tropical Storm or Hurricane.

In addition to that, another tropical disturbance is located east of Florida. This disturbance has less of an opportunity to form a cyclone, but NHC still has it forecasted as a 70% possibility over the next several days.

Will we get a Tropical Storm Odette and Peter? We will find out within the next 72 hours.
