Anthony “Tony” Mazzo, Sr., age 81 of Burns, passed from this life on August 4, 2024.
He was born in New York City, New York, on October 21, 1942, to the late Savario “Sam” Mazzo and Rosaria Zappia Mazzo.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army, 101st Airborne Division as a paratrooper. Tony was a longtime member of the St. Christopher’s Catholic Church in Dickson. He was married to his loving wife, Beverly Adkins Mazzo, for over 60 years.
In addition to his parents: he was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 3 sisters; an infant daughter: Amy Mazzo; a son-in-law: Eric Skinner; and a precious granddaughter: Josie Mazzo.
Survivors include his wife: Beverly Mazzo of Burns; his children: Tony Mazzo (Mendy) of Fairview, Jason Mazzo (Amanda) of Nashville, and Rosie Heath (Johnny) of Dickson; his brothers: Joseph Mazzo (Marge) of Dickson, and Domenick Mazzo (Gaye) of Babylon, NY; and his grandson: Sam Mazzo of Fairview.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at 12:00 noon at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church in Dickson with Father Justin Raines officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow at the Dickson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will take place on Wednesday, August 7, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the Taylor Funeral Home. https://taylorsince1909.com
