Asmita M. Modi, age 64, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Friday August 9th, 2024 after an unexpected illness.
Born in Kenya March 3rd, 1960 to parents Gokaldas and Savitaben Modi, Asmita along with her family moved to the United Kingdom at a young age. Together with her siblings, Hasumati, Dilip, Dixa, and Nita, Asmita grew up making memories that she would fondly share with her children and grandchildren as often as she could.
Asmita was the beloved wife of Mahendra Modi, with whom she shared 46 years of marriage. Together they raised two children, Neemisha and Vivak, who affectionately remember their mother’s warmth, her unwavering faith, and unrelenting support. As a family they moved to USA in 1995 and were later joined by her nieces Priyanka and Karishma. Together they made a home in Dickson, TN.
A devoted grandmother, she cherished her time with her grandchildren: Prem and Dhruv Master, and Arushi and Aryan Desai. Their favorite memories of their grandmother include her warm personality, loving snuggles, and contagious optimism. She made sure they knew that her children and grandchildren made her the proudest in her life. While accomplishing so much over the years, she considered her greatest accomplishment her family.
Asmita was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her husband: Mahendra Modi of Dickson, TN; children: Neemisha Desai and Vivak Master (Punita) of Richmond, VA; bonus children: Priyanka Modi (Anand) of Richmond and Karishma Modi (Anirudh) of Atlanta, GA; 4 grandchildren: Prem, Arushi, Aryan, and Dhruv; 4 siblings: Hasumati Modi (Mahendra), Dilip Modi (Ila), Dixa Jinwala (Kishor), and Nita Shah of UK; and several nieces and nephews in India, UK and New Zealand.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 15th, 2024 at 10:30 am at Taylor Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 9:30 am prior to funeral services. https://taylorsince1909.com
