Bennie Ruth Luther Westerman Thompson, a beloved pianist, devoted teacher, and cherished friend, passed away on September 10, 2024, at the age of 78.

Born on February 9, 1946, Bennie brought joy and warmth to the lives of those around her, touching countless hearts with her immense talent and boundless kindness.

Throughout her life, Bennie found her passion in music, especially in the melodies that flowed through her fingers as she played the piano. Her love for music was not only a source of personal joy but also a means of connection to others; she devoted herself to sharing her talent by giving piano lessons. Many were fortunate enough to learn from her, learning not just about music, but life lessons wrapped in her nurturing guidance.

Bennie had such a joy for cooking, particularly when it came to preparing enormous Thanksgiving meals that brought family and friends together. Her kitchen was a haven filled with laughter, delicious aromas, and the warmth of her generous spirit. Cooking was but one of the many ways she expressed love for those in her life.

A woman of class and elegance, Bennie had an eye for beauty, which she channeled into a successful business creating stunning wedding arrangements. Her talent for decorating breathed life and color into the most cherished of occasions, making dreams come true for many couples starting their lives together.

Bennie was also a proud member of the Singing Jubilee Group, where she shared her soulful voice and harmonized with family and friends, enriching their lives as she celebrated the gift of music.

Above all, Bennie embodied a heart that always sought to serve others. Whether through her music, her cooking or her artistic creations, she had an innate ability to uplift those around her, leaving a lasting impact that will be fondly remembered.

Bennie Ruth Thompson leaves behind a legacy of kindness, creativity, and love that will continue to resonate in the hearts of everyone she touched. Her light may have dimmed, but the beautiful memories she created will forever illuminate our lives.
