Cathy Darlene “Foot” Buttrey Garton, age 62 of Dickson, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Dickson Health and Rehab.
Born in Nashville, Cathy was the daughter of the late Tommy and Martha Ann Hughes Buttrey.
She was a 1979 graduate of Dickson County High School. Known to family and friends as “Foot”, a nickname given to her by her uncle, Cathy worked for 28 years for the Tennsco Corporation as a forklift operator. She loved her family and her grandson was her pride and joy! She also loved her friends and the people she worked with.
She enjoyed traveling and her “camping” trips with her best friend, Wanda. Two of her favorite television shows were “Yellowstone” and “The Walking Dead.” And she will be missed by her cat, Gracie.
Survivors include her son, Brandon Garton, Dickson; her grandson, Aiden Nicks, Dickson; a step-son, Tracey Garton, Dickson; a brother, Keith Buttrey, Madison, TN; and her special friend and caregiver, Wanda Brandenburg, Charlotte.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tommy and Martha Ann Buttrey, a brother, Daryl Buttrey, and by a sister, Teresa Buttrey.
Funeral services for Cathy Darlene “Foot” Buttrey Garton, age 62 of Dickson, will be held at 12 noon Wednesday, December 20, 2023, from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Hudgins Cemetery in Fairview. Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of service. https://taylorsince1909.com
