Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Place of rest will be in the Dickson County Memorial Gardens. Viewing will begin on Friday, January 14th at 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Visitation with the family will be on Saturday, January 15th beginning at 12 Noon until time of services.

Charles Edward Jones was born on November 20, 1949, in Charlotte, Tennessee. He departed from this life on January 7, 2022, after an extended illness at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Nashville, TN.

He was born in Dickson County and was the son of the late George Willie Jones and the late Thelma Primm Jones. He was preceded in death by brothers; Jan Yusk Jones, Willie Ed Jones, and sister, Irene Grimes.

He leaves to cherish his memories; a daughter Kimberly Jones Dickson, TN, and son Chawn (Jessica) Jones of Burns, TN.; former wife, Lillie Ann Jones, and granddaughter, Lydia Grace Jones. Brother, John Henry Jones, Charlotte, TN, sisters; Margaret Hollingsworth and Mona Corlew of Charlotte, TN. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Special companion, Ernestine “Tina” Horner of Dickson, TN.

Charles served in the U. S. Army and the National Guard for 20 years. He owned and operated Jones Concrete Company and worked years as a construction worker. He was a member of Stone Chapel Methodist Church in Cumberland Furnace, Tennessee, and later attended New Day Church in Dickson, Tennessee. He will be truly missed in the community. Charles enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, such as driving around the community and making his daily visits to friends and family. He enjoyed keeping his pond stocked with fish, mowing the yard, once he had a riding lawn mower, driving his tractor around the fields, and feeding his chickens. He found joy in his “Man Cave” watching western movies, wrestling, and football. His favorite team was the Tennessee Titans!!
