Homegoing services will take place on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Place of rest will be in the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Hortense. Visitation with the family will be on Saturday, August 7, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 12 noon until the time of service.

On Saturday, July 31, 2021, Ms. Cuornisha Kenya Northington entered into eternal rest with Christ. She was born on February 26, 1983 in Dickson, TN to Ruth Ann Frierson and Tim Holt. Kenya professed her faith in Christ at an early age at the Galilee Missionary Baptist Church in Nashville, TN under the direction of Rev. R. Harris. She graduated from Dickson County High School in the Class of 2001.

Kenya was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a very outgoing person with a big heart, and she would help anyone she could.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Edna (Elbert) Sanders, James T. Moss, and Roy Mike Holt.

Kenya leaves to cherish her memory- Her daughter: Shavonna “YaYa” Vaughn of Dickson; one son: Draquan Vaughn of McKenzie; her mother: Ruth Ann Frierson of Dickson; father: Tim Holt (Katrina) of Dickson; one brother: Raydale Vaughn (Jessica) of Dickson; two sisters: Deonna Vaughn and Keondra Hogan (Jack) both of Dickson; grandmother: Allie Holt of Dickson; devoted uncle: Robert “Bo” Northington (Wanda); five nieces: Ja’Onna and Ja’Niah Vaughn, Amyia Hogan, Ja’Ariyonna and Naveah Vaughn all of Dickson; two nephews: Little Raydale Vaughn and Ba’Jahan Hogan of Dickson; two stepbrothers: Joseph and Jimmy Frierson; one step-sister: LaKeisha Frierson all of Nashville; two Godchildren: Shamonyae Primm of Dickson and Devion Draine of Georgia; special devoted friend: Henry Rogers of Memphis; a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends; best friend: Christie Baker; and devoted cousins: Debbie Davis, Sheneva Mays, Nina Overton, and Teresa Elliott.
