Danny Ross Schmittou, 75 years of age, of Dickson, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2023.
Danny was born March 8, 1948, in Clarksville, TN, to the late Anderson and Bertha (Putman) Schmittou.
Being a Veteran was his #1 accomplishment, he loved his country and his family. He loved his children, but especially those grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who called him “Pawpaw Dan.”
Dan was also a police officer for multiple counties in TN, and a bus driver for the Dickson County School system. He loved driving a bus, but especially loved those kids in which he drove. Dan’s two grandsons have fallen in Pawpaw Dan’s footsteps with one being in the Navy and the other being a Police Officer.
In addition to his parents, Danny is preceded in death by his wife, Ann Schmittou; daughter, Lisa Armstrong; and a grandson, Adam Robinson.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Brian (Michelle) Armstrong and Kim (Steve) Ragland; grandchildren, Tyler Armstrong (Alleigh Bankes), Leah Armstrong, Amy Robinson, and Angel Robinson; great-grandchildren, Johnathan, Riley, Ryan, and Noah; and two brothers, Butch (Sue) Schmittou and Andy (Linda) Schmittou.
A Graveside Service will be held Friday, November 17, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. at Union Cemetery, with Bro. Donnie Craig officiating. There will be a visitation at Dickson Funeral Home on the 17th, beginning at 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
