Delmer Dean Bennett, age 91, of Dickson, Tennessee, passed away at his home surrounded by family on Friday, April 12, 2024.
He was born in Bakersfield, California, on April 11, 1933, to the late Edgar Allen Poe Bennett and Fannie Esther (Barger) Bennett.
He served in the United States Air Force and later worked in maintenance at a fiberglass factory.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Fannie Bennett; wives, Irene (Dozier) Bennett and Sara (Shearon) Bennett; and brothers, Edgar B. Bennett, Robert Dale Bennett, James Arla Bennett, and Adron Bennett.
He is survived by his son, Kevin Bennett (Denise); daughters, Kristi Webb (Don) and Connie Hunter; grandchildren, Amy Hanrahan (Craig), Ashley Harvey (Robert), Rachel Webb, Rebecca Webb, and Justin Webb; and great-grandchildren, Noah Hanrahan, Emerson Hanrahan, Hunter Harvey, Hadley Harvey, Avery Gates, Jaclyn Lunn, and Charli Lunn.
Funeral service will be Thursday, April 18, 2024, at 12:30 pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Danny Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Nashville, Tennessee. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 17, 2024, from 3 pm to 7 pm and Thursday, April 18, 2024, from 10 am until the service hour of 12:30 pm. Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Bennett, Justin Webb, Craig Hanrahan, Robert Harvey, Noah Hanrahan, and Hunter Harvey.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
