Dr. Stanley Martin “Stan” Anderson, a longtime doctor of radiology, age 83, of Dickson, TN passed away peacefully Saturday, July 27, 2024, at his home.

Dr. Anderson is survived by his wife of 64 years, Pat, and was a loving father to his daughters Stephanie Anderson Burr (Brian), and Mary Elizabeth “Liz’’ Anderson (Chris Wright), and his grandchildren John Patrick and Georgia Elizabeth.

Stan was born in Minneapolis, MN to Clarence Anderson and Georgia Burklow Padgett (Jimmy Padgett) but grew up and spent his childhood in Somerset, KY.

He later attended and graduated from the University of Tennessee and went on to graduate from the UT School of Medicine in Memphis. Upon finishing his internship and residency at City of Memphis Hospitals, Stan entered the U.S. Air Force, with the rank of Major, at Scott Air Force Base in Bellville, IL.

After moving to Dickson in 1973, Stan began his 51-year career in medicine, with a special emphasis on mammography. He was honored to serve as President of the Tennessee Radiological Society as well as becoming a Fellow of the American College of Radiology.

Stan was a lover of life and had many hobbies and passions. Music, golf, and traveling are at the top of the list. None of these, however, can compare to his love for his wife, daughters, and grandchildren. He will be missed beyond words.
