Edgar Earl Weatherspoon, affectionately known as “Pops” to both family and friends, was a beacon of loyalty, love, and reliability. Born in Cumberland Furnace, Tennessee, on October 9, 1953, Edgar’s journey of life came to a peaceful close on May 27, 2024. His life was a testament to the core values he held dear: hard work, selflessness, and an unwavering commitment to helping others.
His passion for tending the land was reflected in his love for farming. He found great joy in nurturing the earth and reaping the fruit of his labor. His reliable nature extended beyond the farm, as he spent his professional career as a dedicated painter with Tennsco. He was a steadfast worker, always committed to bringing his best to each task he undertook. His spirit of selflessness, always ready to lend a hand, will be fondly remembered.
Pops was not just a man of the earth, but also a man of the water. He found tranquility in the gentle ebb and flow of the water, often retreating for some peaceful fishing. When he wasn’t fishing you could find him spending cherished time with his grandchildren and family.
