Ervin Dean Hayes, affectionately known as Dean, took his final breath on September 23, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion that forever echo in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.

Born on February 3, 1940, Dean led a life grounded in simplicity, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to his family.

For 63 treasured years, he shared every moment with the love of his life, Martha Nell Hayes, whose smile warmed his heart until she departed this world. Their love story is one for the ages, a testament to enduring companionship that not even the heaviness of loss could diminish. Together, they nurtured a beautiful family, and Dean’s love for his children was rivaled only by his immense pride in being a grandfather and great-grandfather. Their laughter and joy brought light into his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them, creating memories that will live on in their hearts.

Dean was a hard worker, a trait that defined him throughout his life. He approached each task with determination and diligence, embodying the spirit of commitment in everything he did. Yet, despite his industrious nature, he always found joy in the little things. Mornings were particularly special to him as he savored a cup of coffee while listening to his beloved gospel music. The soothing melodies filled his home with warmth and tranquility, a gentle reminder of the faith that guided him.

A man of few words, Dean had a quiet demeanor that was both comforting and inspiring. His simplicity was a reflection of his down-to-earth nature, making him approachable and deeply loved by all. He found peace and happiness in the outdoors, often spending time in nature and admiring the beauty of eagles soaring above him and the symbolism of crosses that resonated with his faith.

As we say goodbye to Dean, let us remember the kindness he showed to everyone he encountered and the profound love he held for his family. The world is a little dimmer without him, but the light he brought into our lives will forever shine bright. His spirit will continue to inspire all who knew him, reminding us to cherish our loved ones and embrace the joyous moments life offers.
