Ewell-Marie-Holley-Baggett

Born in Cumberland Furnace, Tennessee, Ewell Marie Holley Baggett was the daughter of the late Elby and Dealie Miller Holley, she passed from this life on November 28, 2024 at her home.

She worked until her retirement as a Quality Control supervisor for the former Red Kap Industries. She was a long-time faithful member of Oak Avenue Church of Christ. Ewell loved her family (especially her three generations of grandchildren!) and enjoyed cooking and baking all their favorite foods. She also made a “ministry” of crocheting items and then giving them away to other people.

Ewell’s generous heart and her busy hands benefitted many recipients of her church family, neighbors, and friends. Many will fondly remember her for her fried pies, which she selflessly shared with them. A favorite pastime was feeding and watching the hummingbirds. She “played hostess” to so many of them that it was not uncommon to have to fill the feeders more than once a day!

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack D. Baggett; two sons, Kenneth Ray Baggett and Bruce Baggett; and by all of her sisters and brothers.

Survivors include her son, Wayne Baggett (Becky) of Dickson; two grandsons, Bobby Baggett and Jamey Baggett (Annitta), all of Dickson; five great-grandchildren, Ashley Bryant (Nick), Allie Dunnagan (Billy), Wyatt Baggett, Caleb Baggett (Megan), and Jake Baggett (Ashlyn); five great-great grandchildren, Paisley, Mason, Waylon, Wrenley, and River; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Ewell Marie Holley Baggett, age 94, of Dickson, will begin at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 1, 2024 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Thomas Southerland officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Sylvia. Visitation will be on Sunday from 11 a.m. until time of service. https://taylorsince1909.com
