Frank Vernon Becker, 74 years of age, passed away October 3, 2025, at TriStar Horizon Medical Center. Frank’s life was marked by his unwavering faith, joyous spirit, and dedication to his community.

Frank was born November 10, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois. Frank’s career was as diverse as it was impactful; he will be remembered as a voice that brought sports to life as a broadcaster on sports radio and as a figure of fairness and integrity as a TSSAA football official for over twenty-five years. His love for the game was only matched by his commitment to the players and the sports community. Beyond the football field, Frank served diligently over the C.I.A. (Christians In Action) Group at his beloved Walnut Street Church of Christ. His deep Christian faith was the cornerstone of his existence, guiding his actions and interactions. Frank’s leadership within the church was a testament to his desire to live a life of service and to inspire others to walk in the light of God’s love.

Known for his giving and tender heart, Frank never missed an opportunity to help those in need. His ability to find humor in everyday moments earned him a reputation as a jokester, as he always enjoyed a good laugh. Children held a special place in Frank’s heart. He loved all kids, whether they were part of his family or children he met through his many years of community involvement. Frank was the quintessential friendly neighbor, known for handing out candy and sharing moments of joy with the younger generation. These simple acts of kindness left a lasting impression on the children and parents alike, and his legacy of love and laughter will continue to ripple through the community.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 56 years, Edee Becker; daughter, Mary Elizabeth (Steve) Davidson; grandsons, Spencer (Jessica) Davidson and Sawyer Davidson; great-grandson, Louie Davidson; and sister, JoAnn Sizemore. He is preceded in death by his son, Josh Becker; and parents, Addie Lee Parham and Billy Ray Sanders.
