Fred James Nichols. age 54 of Dickson, TN unexpectedly transitioned from this earthly life to his eternal rest on April 30, 2023.

Fred was born on August 21, 1968, in Dickson, Tennessee.

Fred was the son of the late Robert Lee Nichols and the late Margaret Louella Lewis Nichols.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patty Walls Nichols; and 5 siblings, Katie Smith, Rosetta Sanders, Lola Ann Holt Donovan, David Nichols, and Mary Alice Nichols.

Before a decline in his health, Fred was employed with Carl’s Collision, where he worked as an auto body detail technician for many years. He loved working on cars and was quite the handyman.

Outside of work, Fred loved plants and gardening—often bragging about his watermelon and was proud of his elephant ear plants. He also loved cooking and was quite crafty in the kitchen. He was always eager to share a new dish he had made. And he loved to eat. At family gatherings his family would laugh with him about how many rounds he went back for after his first plate.

Fred, also known as “Freddy Krueger” and “Float,” will be deeply missed by all those who knew him. He will be remembered for his friendly, outgoing, caring and giving personality. And that laugh, his infectious laugh and smile would light up any room he was in

Though he is no longer with us, we rest assured knowing that to be absent from the body means to be present with the Lord.

Nichols of Nashville, TN; Brenda Thompson (Joe) of Dickson, TN; and Charles Nichols of Dickson, TN; and grandmother, Estella Nichols.
